No less than 41 bespoke house types, with a variety of exterior finishes, have been developed which take inspiration from a more rural vernacular. The materiality of the development is intended to respect and celebrate its unique Pennine location, whilst at the same time, utilising modern functionality and detailing to provide a contemporary take on traditional Lancashire barns.
Green Hills, Blackburn is designed to be sustainable on a number of levels. The careful landscape-led design ensures that generous green corridors accommodate SuDS (sustainable drainage systems) with natural stream beds and swales at the bottom of the hill being key generators of the integrated landscape design.
Construction of the first phase of 61 homes commenced in early 2017.
