Placemaking Guidance and Seminars

IDPartnership have been working closely with Homes England and Local Partnerships providing advice and seminars to explain how placemaking principles such as Building for Life 12 (BfL) can be used to create well considered masterplans, ensuring that new large-scale residential developments provide high quality places to live.

We were commissioned by Homes England to provide a series of training sessions for new Homes England staff in the drive to deliver 300,000 new homes per year. IDP worked closely with Design for Homes, to prepare day long training sessions covering the key elements of the government’s accelerated construction programme. The seminars concentrated on Question 5 of Building for Life, which relates to how character is achieved in site layouts and detailed housing designs.

Following the success of these sessions, IDP have been asked to provide follow-on seminars for Homes England as well as members of local authorities and private sector organisations.

In 2018, IDPartnership became the only Architectural Associate Member of Local Partnerships. This involves working with local authorities across the country to help facilitate their masterplanning and development needs. We offer consultancy, strategic masterplan layouts, house type design (to enable them to build developer briefs), as well as to help them understand how to meet their own housing or commercial needs.
