In 1989, Ian Darby Partnership purchased the redundant St Jude’s Church, Newcastle and converted it into new offices for the company, from which we still operate to this day. We designed the new mezzanine floor and ancillary accommodation for the offices to be ‘new’ but ‘reversible’. If subsequent owners of the building ever wish to return the Church to its original state, the new ‘interventions’ can be removed without compromising the historical integrity of the building. The completed scheme received a commendation in the Lord Mayors Design Award of 1994.

In 2012, we reopened an office in London. Located within The Building Centre, just off Tottenham Court Road, IDPartnership Southern is centrally located to support our work for a wide range of developers based in the South East.
