Project Description:

IDPartnership, together with Elliott Associates and Housing Consultancy Plus, formed Plan B Housing LLP in 2011. Plan B has an innovative approach to delivering affordable social housing. The unique plan forms are designed to minimise waste and maximise functionality. Great care has been taken to simplify structure and detailing which makes the house types particularly suitable for training and apprenticeship purposes.

Plan B specialises in the design and development of accommodation for the elderly and people with special needs. In 2014 Plan B was awarded the Constructing Excellence in the North East Award’ for Innovation and was shortlisted for the ‘National Innovation Award 2014’ for their work in simplifying, rationalising and facilitating the delivery of social housing units during the recession. Recently, Plan B Housing has been involved on a variety of projects across North East and North West of England. In the South Lakes, these projects are moving on a pace with approximately 200 units heading through planning, and a constructor partner has been selected to build out these important infill and minimal sites.
