Appointed by Sunderland Homes, IDPartnership were commissioned to consider how East Sunniside could be developed to provide a housing product which will draw people back into this area on the eastern edge of Sunderland City Centre.

The masterplan we prepared examined, in detail, different housing typologies that could be used to create an urban village catering for all ages. This included live-work units to reflect Sunderland City Council’s land use framework for Sunniside, which envisages mixed-use residential alongside workshops, creative industries and technology. As part of this work, IDPartnership liaised closely with officers from Homes England and Sunderland City Council to ensure robust and deliverable proposals.
