Project Description:

Working for South Tyneside Council, IDPartnership prepared a masterplan framework for Holborn Riverside - A key brownfield regeneration site located at the mouth of the Tyne. The masterplan seeks to create a high quality mixed-use riverside neighbourhood which is fully integrated into its surroundings and harnesses the industrial dock heritage of the site, has links to sustainable transport, and utilises the close proximity of South Shields Town Centre.

A key criteria in the preparation of the masterplan has been to ensure aspiration is balanced with the need to accommodate ‘market facing’ housing. The masterplan has been used to test market demand and will inform the final brief for the site. Previously, working on behalf of the developer Grantside (former landowner), IDPartnership won a national design competition, preparing concept masterplan proposals for this site.
