Project Description:

Following a successful design competition in partnership with Karbon Homes, IDPartnership are currently developing the design for a landmark development of 108 dwellings on the site of the former North Hylton Campus of Sunderland College.

The proposal responds to the local authority brief to create a high quality, distinct neighbourhood which fully responds to and integrates into the surrounding context. Set between the two arterial roads of North Hylton Road and Redcar Road, the development creates a strong frontage to these thoroughfares, and creates a mixed tenure, mixed demographic neighbourhood focused around a green linear park, incorporating SuDS. This will provide an ecologically rich landscape along with informal play and recreation opportunities. A planning application is to be submitted in late summer 2019.
